Hello, I am Lucas
I work as a project manager. I am a parent. An expat living in Lisbon, Portugal.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What started as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Relocating to Portugal wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a work opportunity and quickly grew into something much more substantial.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Star Light Springs Smith
Most information online came from either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
